How often do y'all weigh yourselves?
Hi, everyone.
It is SO great to see the boards become more active again. I was curious, how do you all approach weighing yourself? My dietitian doesn't want me weighing more than every other week, but I miss daily weighing for the motivation and the fluctuations would teach me so much about salt consumption, water retention, etc. Do y'all weigh daily? Weekly? Monthly? Less? I would love to hear and also hear your reasons behind it.

It's fantastic that the boards are more active.
I am currently weighing daily as it keeps me on track. I think daily is fine as long as you know if you get an upward fluctuation it won't derail you.
I would say do what works for you but might be worth discussing your reasons with your dietician.

Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.

I've tried to tell her how much daily weighing helped me, but she's still not a fan. I am a total data person, haha. I like seeing numbers, but I will admit, there are days seeing my high weight totally derails me, so I get here she's coming from. Not weighing at all is very hard (which I tried) and I always end up gaining massive amounts of weight when I'm not weighing.Soprano wrote: ↑Wed Jul 16, 2025 7:37 amIt's fantastic that the boards are more active.

I weigh myself every day, but I don't let the numbers affect me too much. I read somewhere that people who weigh daily have, on average lower BMI than people who don't and so I guess that keeps me going. It also helps me see fluctuations and not to be discouraged by random higher numbers.
Re: How often do y'all weigh yourselves?
I'm still not sure. Weighing myself every day makes me obsessive and nervous. But weighing weekly might give me a distorted picture — and then I get upset if I haven't lost any weight.
Weighing monthly sounds lovely, but I'm really scared I might gain for a whole month and then get a nasty surprise when I finally step on the scale.
I'm actually considering going back to vanilla No-S, including the overeating on S-days, simply because it's the only "diet" that ever reduced the food noise and made me feel like a normal person again.
But that means weighing too often might interfere with building the habit. If I don't lose weight — or worse, if I gain — I might end up quitting the whole thing again, and I really don't want that.

I get ya. I feel like no matter what I do, I focus too much on the number, but I will say, it's easier weighing every day for me than fewer, because at least I know, can mark it, and move on.

I'm team everyday at the moment, tracking it in Libra app... such a nice app.
Nice and fun to see numbers and fluctuations, averages and trends over time.
I like seeing the immediate difference when i really put effort in compliance.
Also very useful to see the weight creeping in over several weeks of slacking...and taking action on time rather than giving up and letting it snowball.
But yeah, it can get time consuming and silly on some days, obsessing over getting the coffee, the poop, the weigh in, and the water intake in the right order while still sleepy
