Pedometer recommendations?
Pedometer recommendations?
My pedometer died. I liked it a lot - it was a basic step counter that closed up (so buttons couldn't be pushed accidentally) and had a "leash" (so it didn't fall in the toilet or something). It was unobtrusive enough to wear at work, and kept pretty accurate step-count until right before it died, when it started cheating me a little.
They don't make it anymore.
Any recommendations? The one I bought at the sporting good store keeps wildly inaccurate count. (If I can find the receipt, I'm taking it back.)

Well, I got it, and I am not happy with it.
The functionality is fine. But this thing is BIG - like a large hard-boiled egg cut in half. Add the clip to that shape, and it's like trying to wear a bobble-head on your waist. And the clip is set a bit low, so it comes off easily. (There is a "leash" clip too, fortunately.)
It does work in a pocket, but feels bulkier than my cell phone. However, most of my work clothes don't have pockets... and when worn clipped onto a waistband, it shows through most clothes in addition to being highly noticeable in terms of "feel."
I am so sorry my old one is no longer being made.

Well, today i did my first walk with the pedometer. I was way off on the actual distance covered. What I thought was 4miles/hour, was actually barely 2.5. I am sad to say that it took me about 90 mins to walk 4 miles. On the positive side, I have lots of room for improvement.
two wrongs don't make a right.
But three lefts do.

This tread is probably dead, but I'll try to join anyway.
I bought a Silva pedometer for my mom and she liked it a lot. It's small, simple and unoobtrusive. Here is a link to Amazon my mom has got a similar looking model just different color. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Silva-56012-3-S ... 97&sr=1-13
