Hello everyone!

Hello!

I am Wiifitguy. I have been on the No S Diet for several weeks now, along with the rest of my family. So far so good, no cheating, no real problems whatsoever. I have yet to record any weight loss, because I am waiting to record anything till April, and the day my project, "WIi Fit Guy" begins.

It is an experiment I am doing that involves using the No S Diet, and a device for the Nintendo Wii called the Wii Fit, which is essentially a game designed around weight loss and maintenance

My goal is to lose sixty pounds in a six month period, using The No S Diet, and the Wii Fit in collaberation with eachother, along with some strong willpower, and walking to and from work :)

The website is linked in my signature for anyone who wants to join me in my quest, which will be journaled once a week, including a weekly weigh in, diet journal, WIi Fit journal, tips for others who want to partake, and eventually, before and after pics (in all their gruesome glory) I am not giving out exact numbers for the time being, but I am around 250 pounds as I type this.

I believe in the No S Diet. I feel better then ever since I have started it, and I know that with proper excercise, anyone can stay in shape if they try. My motto is "Responsibility to the responsible." I am fat because I ate too much, and I don't want to be fat anymore. More details about my goals are on the Q and A on my website. I didn't just sign up to advertise of course, as the No S Diet is a big part of this project.

Thank you!

Hello, Wiifitguy!

Sounds excellent!

So what's this game like?

Wonder if I should contact nintendo about licensing a shovelglove game... or some kind of reverse pac man where you're running away from snacks and sweets until S-days when you can gobble them up... :-)

Hello Reinhard, thanks for the welcome!

To answer your question, the Wii Fit is essentially a wireless board, around the same size as a weight scale, that you lay on the floor. It has motion and weight sensors inside to measure your movements, and is able to track (obviously) your presence on the scale, how you are leaning on it, etc.

It consists of an array of different activities, such as pushups, crunches, yoga training, step training, and other things that involve the platform, as well as non-platform excercises such as jogging, which is detected through the motion-sensor equipped Wii Remote, which you slip into your back pocket prior to beginning the exercise.

I am in no way affiliated with Nintendo officially or unofficially, but there is plenty more information available about the product on Youtube, and a search of "Wii Fit" in a google search engine will yield many results. I am a "well-wisher" of sorts. I once lost fifty pounds through weight watchers when I was much younger, but it was unrealistic at the time for me to stick with the program following my success. My convoluted lifestyle afterward caused me to lose motivation in maintaining my weight, and it eventually spiraled out of control. The No S Diet to me, is as realistic as any "diet" could possibly ever get, not just to lose weight, but actually as a viable way to LIVE, and keep the weight off. I plan to lose the sixty pounds, though my final goal is more around the eighty mark...and this time, keep it off.

Thanks for your support, and your reply!

Thanks for the explanation.

Sounds fun! (though not as fun as a sensor that could withstand/detect the force of impact of a sledgehammer :-))

Good luck!

Reinhard
