Thanks Starla! I think things will get better once I get the actual book (arriving from Amazon tomorrow) and get to understand some of the finer points.

No S
Exercise

Still getting the body used to eating only three, starving in the evenings after exercise. One day at a time right? :)

Huge test, today was happy hour night with the work crew  But, stuck to two drinks. Didn't feel as starved and when I stepped on the scale this a.m. I'm down a pound or two already. I know it isn't water weight because, sadly, I never seem to get the recommended daily requirement of that. Portion control, who would have thunk it?

No S
Exercise

Book is here, can't wait to dig in and learn.

Two day posting catchup...

Yesterday
No S
Exercise

Today
No S
Exercise

Skimmed through the book yesterday and discovered that my coffee with milk is not considered a snack (yayy). That definitely makes life better. I still get hungry about the time right before my next meal but I'm not ready to knaw my arm off at the end of the night any longer.

Tomorrow is my first S day which is way cool because I have a party to go to.

I've had two red Exercise days. I'm going to try and use this concept of Intelligent Defaults to come up with something short that I can fall back on either first thing in the a.m. or before I go to bed.

First S days!!!

I have to say I'm a little disappointed in myself. Honestly, I'm not sure I strayed that much from what I did during the week. I did manage to hunt down two Dunkin Donuts last night and breakfast on Saturday was a big plate. But all in all, 3 meals kept on plates. I'll indulge in a steaming mug of cocoa before bed and drift off smiling.

Saturday:

ok ok, I sort of suck on the posting. Another habit I need to work on

However, I don't suck on the No S. There have been meals that were iffy this week. At one point there may have been a pizza dangling precariously close to the edges of the plate one dinner after I misjudged how much I needed at lunch to carry me through. However, all in all, it's been good. Better each day actually. Now, if I could only say that about daily exercise hmmm.

I may be traveling into the 'idiot' zone a little with my plating but the most important thing is to focus on the habit, then cut it back a bit. At least it feels good to tell myself that.

Today was crazy at work, and I missed breakfast, but never fear...there were still three plates to be had. One at lunch, another early dinner before holiday shopping and a final small plate with apples and cheese when I drug my weary body home. A victory for No-S (assuming this wasn't skating around some rule or another).

I signed up for a yoga class next year which will nicely supplement my three time per week routine and help me get up to six days. Trying to get the red off the exercise habitcal.

Today I feel like a sponge. A sponge that has been dropped into a glass of water. I'm going to avoid stepping near a scale until this feeling goes away, because it's a little discouraging. I can say though, even though the holidays and end of quarter madness are squeezing in, I've stayed faithful. For that reason alone I don't think I'll do another diet. As a matter of fact, looking into the new year and resolution season, I will declare for the electronic record that there will be no more crazy diets, no accounting, none of that for me. Ok, before I get all sappy, the stats:

No-S
Exercise

Created a minimum standard program for exercise after cruising the UR boards. I think I can stick with it. As a matter of fact, I vow to stick with it for the next 21 days. If I can pull that off, it would be the first time I was "good" with both eating and exercise together consistantly. Here's to the next 21 <lifting my wine glass icon>

I would say I sucked today because I got a red on the No-S. However, I don't feel badly about it. I baked today for the office and tasted my creations so as not to embarass myself. Vanity, it's a terrible sin.

No-S
Exercise

So, another batch tomorrow with a different formula but I'll resist tasting. I'll have to trust other's judgement until my S day. By the way, I was sorely tempted to give up one of my 3 after falling into temptation. But I did not, as the book suggested. Next week the strict schedule goes off and I can mod (yay).

Happy New Year

Diet, thy enemy is holiday season. OK, that may be a little dramatic. Actually things have gone fairly well since my last checkin. I did have those stumbles with the cookie dough around baking time, but other than that, the No S has been nothing but successes. The exercise part (sighing and hanging head in shame) well, that will be forced to be on track next week since yoga and dance classes start back up.

Since it's a new year, we'll do a review of the time spent No-Sing so far. Pounds lost? I don't know, a couple in the beginning. Attitude lost? More than anything, that's where the benefit is for me at least. No emotion has the opportunity to get tied to the eating. End of year was stressful at work and I really really craved that sugar high, but I knew it was against the rules so I just had to deal. The pounds will come off after I figure out this exercise stuff. But, all in all, I finally feel normal and in control.

I'm a bit afraid to do much modding (hehe No-S slang) but I did find myself at fast food restaraunts more often since it was "allowed". So one forth S - no sacks - which means no carryout. I'm thinking on S days I can do whatever I want in terms of eating out, but the other days I should keep it homecooked, or go out to a real restaraunt and enjoy a sit down meal.

ick, I've been sick. Have been faithful to the No-S. Obviously no go on the working out. This is a quick message as I need to get some rest, one thing I'm noticing is a minimized desire for sweets on my S-day :?: What's that about? You get to an S day and your body decides then to not have cravings? No, I get it, it's a good thing. Perhaps all those cravings were psychological before and now I'm craving what I really need. Or maybe because I know I have S days I don't feel deprived. As long as it comes off, I'm happy either way.
