Oh the shame of it all!

Post by Over43 » Mon Jul 04, 2011 2:56 pm

July 4th weekend may be my biggest downfall. Bratwurst, hot dogs, macaroni salads, water melon, pickled everything, hamburgers, I have eaten it all, and we still have today! Sum, ergo edo!

When I was in my 20's and slender I could literally eat Ruthian portions of grilled holiday food. Yesterday, after not having eaten like that in 15 years I returned from retirement: two hot dogs, three bratwurst, watermelon, salads, Coca Colas. I'll be honored with a statue.

In the immortal words of the great Mickey Mantle: Yes I'm a role model, don't do what I did.

All of you have a great 4th.

LOL...I loved this post...Don't worry, we all have been there. Summer gatherings are my weakness as well. Yesterday I had a brats, beers and ice cream. Today is it is more of the same.

Yet...I have to say...It is not as bad as it was in the past. And...I will be back on track tomorrow.

(The beauty of it is that I know I will actually be back on track tomorrow and it is okay. This is a plan that allows you those occasional lapses in judgment.)

Enjoy!

I think one of the differences between us overeaters is thin people expect to eat a lot sometimes and don't think much of it. We keep thinking we never will again and are super disappointed in ourselves when we do, probably imagining it will all come back. Maybe it has before. I don't know, but I've been eating a lot and it's not even at social events. It's all going to shake out.

Fun post, you have a way with words. I agree that the difference in today and the past, you are aware that this is not how you normally eat.
