Re: Pinkhippies daily check in

Very cute about the kids and the pedometers. When my 14 year old wears one, I am always shocked at how many steps he gets. Must do a lot of restless movement! Hang in there about the anxiety dreams about all the new things coming with school. I know it must be tough. Good for you to work on setting ...

Pinkie - do those headbands make you extra hot though? I haven't been wanting to pull my hair off my forehead because of fear of a burn, too. So my hair has just been floppy-floppy-floppy this summer.

Re: automated eating tracker

My hedges are officially beautiful, shaped like elephants. Haha just kidding. But I am making good progress. Does anyone know whether it's better for the trees (they are those ornamental cedar hedges) to keep their clippings under them or if I should rake all the trimmings out? Or maybe leave some? ...

As a mom whose kids ALWAYS know when she's having a bad day, I am sort of in awe of your self-control when you feel down. If only we could blend our styles and have something perfect in the middle. Hi Gabby - Do what you can do. As I often tell people, the most important thing is to find your plan and stick to it. There's no "right or wrong" with a way of eating. It's about what works for us. Everything has trade-offs.

Well, yes and no. Apparently at this point the science indicates that waist to height ratio is probably the best measurement for gauging metabolic health. It should be less than 0.5 (or even less than 0.48 for women). So you divide your waist circumference (at your belly button) by your height. For ...
