Thank you Pinkie for the encouragement. I think part of my discouragement is that I have been reading my journal and I've not found patterns that connect with my recent weight gain. A lot of people start with a built-in 4th meal if they find they are often derailed going down to just 3 meals a day. I think it can work well in the beginning as long as it officially part of your daily plan.

Re: Is This Mod a Bad Idea?

I wrote a few different responses, and I ended up realizing that this is an individualized question you have. Depending on YOUR habit personality/temperament/approach to change, this mod may be helpful or hurtful. But what I LOVE about NoS is that we can experiment to our hearts' content! So you cou...

Gum has been the best "cure" for me on the occasions I've suffered from mild heartburn. Oh, and and update/edit: I have been reading about sauerkraut this morning, and discovered that some people use it to find relief from their heartburn. Maybe it's worth a try. I keep running across this paradoxic...

Sounds like an overall nice day, but sorry about the daughter with the sweets. On other places on this forum, I tend to be the one that is .... very frank .... about refusing foods given to me. Don't see anyone but your family for 3 months and then do an interview. This made me laugh! Interviews are always good experience for us, despite not being very relaxing! Hi Oolala - NoS is the foundation in my life for my eating. Everything started from there, when I realized I actually needed to sit down and eat a "meal" rather than grazing all day. I love it and I love this forum, which gives a basic structure to my days. However, for me it was health reasons that...

I'm starting to think it might be a worthwhile experiment to just start having a super early dinner when you feel that afternoon hunger at 4ish. It has worked well for me, but probably not a good fit for everyone.

Thanks for sharing this! I first want to address the issue that any of us have to worry about our weight and our eating. If we had lived even just 150 years ago, this was just NOT. A. THING.
