I think the advent and complete over-use of cellphones has probably contributed to the writing, complex thinking, and memory skills decline we see not only in young people, but also in adults. :( I am trying really hard to use my cell phone less around my daughter --even though she's only 6 weeks ol...

Re: Sammy's Daily Check In

Looking forward to going to my local YMCA today for a cardio drumming class. That will be a lot of fun, I hope. My plan is to try to go to the Y at least 3 days a week for group fitness classes. I also enjoy walking, though, and don't want to lose that (could do both, I suppose). [EDIT] OMG. We had ...

Re: I've Badly Relapsed Into Binging!

As mentioned in my Daily Check In recently, I developed a binge eating habit last year that quickly piled on 50 pounds from March 2019 - August 2019. NOT good. It sort of developed out of a perfect storm situation. I have bipolar disorder (rapid cycling at that) and I was in the middle of back to ba...

Re: Why did you leave? Why are you back?

Welp. After my sweeping "I'm back!" post in July of last year, I immediately got off track with bingeing and other diets. (DAMN YOU, WW!!!) I'm finally fed up. I need sanity surrounding my eating. I need better eating habits. I would love to lose weight, but the most important thing now is that I re...

Re: Sammy's Daily Check In

Today has gone really well so far. I still have dinner to eat, but so far 2 square meals with no snacking or sweets-ing. Dinner will be a social thing, so I know I'll be fine with that. Though, it is at a TexMex place and I'm afraid of those chips and salsa. I may save the salsa for my meal and not ...

Too much social engagement can be exhausting. I have been on a quest lately to simplify my commitments and my life and No S is definitely helping with that, as I was doing WW (unsuccessfully) for months with no weight loss and all the social pressures. I applaud you and your volunteering efforts, bu...

Maintenance honestly terrifies me but I have quite a ways to go before I get there. I'd like to lose 55-65 pounds, but this is a very good point to think about. It will take less food to sustain a smaller body. Food for thought.

Sammy's Daily Check In

Hi, all. Welp. Last year, from March 2019 - August 2019, I gained 50 pounds. During that time, I had developed a nasty binge eating habit that has backfired in a HUGE way. I have been maintaining more or less since then, but am serious about trying to lose weight now in such a way that I can be sane...

Re: Why did you leave? Why are you back?

I've tried to do No S unsuccessfully over the last 9 years because I keep getting distracted by yo-yo dieting and binge eating. I am now at my highest weight and desperate to make better habits for myself. I am back to stay and I can't wait to get this weight off in a sustainable, sane fashion.

Coming back to No S after years away

I did No S WAY back in the day, but never really stuck with it. SO this time, my plan is to commit hardcore. Vanilla. No modifications. Just plain, old fashioned No S. I've got about 22 pounds to lose and I want to do it with a healthy mindset. What's the longest you've done No S? I'd love to hear a...
