Re: Pinkhippies daily check in

I echo Autos points re reading. I worried about my son's ability when he first started learning to read, he soon caught up and started to devour books.

He loves reading still at 26. Keep it fun not a chore. :)

Poor HH. Our dog used to shake in the car, if only we could explain to them that the end of the journey is worth it. Well except when it is to the vets :)

Re: No S has offered effortless maintenance to me!

Great post, much the same for me except I did join to lose weight and whilst I'm happy where I am I could do with losing more.

I know how to tweak it to do that and will continue to do that when I'm ready.

The clean plate club is really hard to leave.

I too have more success these days at recognizing and being able to leave sweet things when they are too much. Part of what helps is having full permission to have some another day :)

Auto it is really scary the lack of knowledge Doctors have around type 2 diabetes, though I do believe this is slowly changing now both in the UK and USA. I've been following a few accounts on twitter around the subject and it seems people are controlling/improving it either by low carb or fasting o...

Loving following your experiment.

How do you test vit D. I don't normally take supplements but given covid and winter looming thought about getting vit D tablets.

It's been a funny few days, I've had a few more carbs than normal, all wholemeal but now I find I'm starting to crave them a little, also wanting to eat when I'm not really hungry. Not had these feelings for a long time. I don't know if it's the time of year, winter coming in and natural instinct to...

Love the chicken story Octavia and eggs in a hat sound great.

I always give something the ouch test if I'm not sure it's cooked, if it looks cooked, cut in half, if not pink, touch it with a clean finger and if it is hot "ouch" it's cooked. :)

Re: automated eating tracker

Congratulations on the reduction in blood sugar. Am I correct that this measure is based on the last 3 months?

If so maybe eating in the more restricted way might work for one or two days a week?

Glad you are feeling better, keep those positive thoughts :)

Re: Octavia is finally checking in!

Put it in perspective a little, 1/2 lb a month is nearly half a stone a year. So 2 years and a stone off that's pretty impressive if you are enjoying your foods. Certainly better than the opposite gaining half a stone a year which at your age (mine too) can so easily happen :)

Well done you. So pleased for you. I am getting better at moderate drinking, I can easily not drink, it's usually my meals that dictate whether I have wine or not, some meals just seem to call out for a glass of red but I feel so much better if I don't have more than 2 small glasses. Sparkling water...

Re: GabbyGirl2's Daily Check-in

There is a raft of information about controlling diabetes with low carb and intermittent fasting. It's my belief that small adjustments can have big impacts on our health.so not necessarily a need to go keto or 24 hour fasts. Just consistent better habits will help.

Good luck

Have you followed IE before? I found it useful for a while I did lose weight and did learn that nothing was off the menu. I also learned that a lot of what I thought were treats I didn't like the taste of. However at times it took too much mental effort to decide if I was really hungry or what I wan...

I'm eating a few more carbs than I want to as I've not got the mental energy to be creative at the moment. Just catching up on your posts, great to read how well you are doing and you sound so positive.

I too noticed a lack of colds this last couple of years and have wondered the same re eating less carbs.

Life is pretty bad at the moment but I'll update in my thread.

Take care

Re: Pinkhippies daily check in

I find it really hard to stop and leave food but I've got better at it. Most of the time I get it right but what I do allow now the habits are better are seconds if I genuinely feel I need a little more. It's rare I do this, especially if I give myself 20 mins or so after finishing my plate.
