Marye check in

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

Thanks! It's a S day today. I'm planning to have just 3 meals and no snacks. Also no seconds, but if i like i could have something sweet or less healthy during a meal. Already had breakfast, a nice big bowl of muesli with rice milk.

Had a lovely day yesterday.
For lunch i got the sandwich of the day from a little Italian shop.
My boyfriend and i enjoyed them together in his garden.
Also an Italian inspired diner. My boyfriend had to work so i made myself an meatless pasta dish.
Both meals made me feel satiated witch was very nice.
Also an very active day with a lot of walking and spent a ton of time outdoors with my dog.

The hunger outsite of the 3 mealtimes is getting less.
Really happy with that.

So far so good. Workday is almost over.
Lots of food here, but i walked past it.

Breakfast: Soy yogurt, granola and a banana.
Lunch: turkey/pesto sandwiches and a kiwi

I always walk to work. The shortest route is 30 minutes, but this morning a took a d-tour. So around 45 minutes.
But no normal walk in my lunch break, because it is raining all the time. But in a minute i will have to walk back in the rain to my home.
After that a nice warm shower and then i will make myself a healthy dinner.

A intern how is at work for the last time today left a box of chocolate at the desk next to me. I'm alone in the office. It's like the chocolates are talking to me. But i'm not going to take one (and as a consequence eating the whole box).

Marye, some days are definitely more challenging than others. I was thinking that maybe we need a few big tests thrown at us every now and then just to see just how far we have come in the process.
