The Worst Name for a Restaurant,,,Ever!

I've been wanting to write this for days now, but keep forgetting to do so...
I just read that little "Marion's Cookbook" link on Reinhards Daily thread..
One of the recipes is for "Hackbraten vom Blech".. Which I won't be trying anytime soon! LOL...
That reminded me to mention this restaurant that just changed ownership...
It's a Thai Cuisine place and, believe me, I love Thai food!!! But somehow, I don't think, even with the new change of managership, that they will do much better than the one before...
I know this is some Thai word, that probably means "delicious" or somthing foodwise, but I tell you, unless you are a native Thai speaker, the name will probably seal their doom (or attract Sharks...)

The renamed this place,,,,,,,,,,

*Chum*!!!
Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!!
Can you imagine inviting your office buddies out for lunch and saying
"Hey guys, lets go get some chum!".....

They're dead!
Oh well...

Hey! I got a good one for you.

My parents used to own a place in Northern Michigan and when my parents leased it and got it back, a friend of ours wanted my dad to open a chicken place and call it::

SAM & ELLA'S

How would going to that one grab you?

Peace. Michele

There's a grocery chain in British Columbia called OVERWAITEA. I couldn't believe it when I first saw it. Apparently the founder used to measure out teabags for his customers 100 years ago, and he always gave them a little more than they asked for, without charging. He became famous for this and everyone called it the Overweight Tea place.

Hi! I passed "Chum" again tonight... They are still open..
Maybe sharks are frequenting their establishment?

Funny I didn't see any of the replys to this post till today..
Yeah! I don't think I'll go to eat at
Sam and Ellas!

LOL...

Curl up and dye! That's good... But they stole that from the Blues Brothers Movie...

Well tonight we are watching all three Austin Powers movies!
Yeah Baby, yeah!!!

There is a street here in Baton Rouge named Plum Baroque. I have no urge to house hunting on that street. Although if it is a requirement I qualify.

Plum Baroque!
That's cute!
I think that's what I am these days...

How's your area shaping up after Katrina, Dixie?

My son's family (ex hub) was living in Metairie and they are now in Destrehans..

I hope this is a healing year for you all...

Best wishes,

Baton Rouge is doing well other than crowded! Our infrastructure wasn't the best to begin with especially in terms of traffic and now it is rather stressed.

I hear that one of our more popular Mardi Gras parades is going to had at least 250,000 people. My family and I will be in the throng somewhere.

Thanks for asking.
