Herbsgirl's new check 2016

Counting carbs/calories is a drag. Obsessive scale stepping is a recipe for despair. If you want to count something, "days on habit" is a much better metric. Checking off days on a calendar would do just fine, but if you do it here you get accountability and support. Here's how. Start a new topic in this forum called (say) "Your Name Daily Check In." Then every N day post a "reply" to that topic as to whether you stayed on habit. A simple "<font color="green">SUCCESS</font>" or "<font color="red">FAILURE</font>" (or your preferred euphemism if that's too harsh) is sufficient, but obviously you're welcome to write more if you want. On S-days just register that you're taking an S-day. You don't have to do this forever, just until you're confident you've built the habit. Feel free to check in weekly or monthly or sporadically instead of daily. Feel free also to track other habits besides No-s (I'm keeping this forum under No-s because that's what the vast majority are using it for). See also my <a href="/habitcal/">HabitCal</a> tool for another more formal (and perhaps complementary) way to track habits.

Herbsgirl's new check 2016

Post by herbsgirl » Wed Feb 17, 2016 4:09 pm

Hi! I am back. I lost 70 lbs and I have maintained a large amount of that loss for 2 years today marks my 2 year Maintenance anniversary

However, I have gotten off track some. I need to get back on track. My blood sugars are high, close to Diabetes if not already. My wieght has went above goal, so I need to get back down.

I posted on the Facebook group showing my little plates I got at goodwill. They are 6 5/8" across.

I have been counting bites regularly for 2 years and 4 months! Counting bites has seemed to be a long term tool that helps me, I can use it.

SO here is to getting back on track to 3 meals a day with no SNACKS, no sugar SWEETS, and no SECONDS

It's been 2 years? Can't believe it! You are about on track for some wobbling and new adjustments to the regime. Two years is the minimum for decreasing chances of relapse, and five is better. It's pretty typical for people to go through phases of struggling again. The lucky/motivated? ones keep adjusting or refocusing. I think you'll be one of the successes.

Is your name the same on Facebook? I saw the plates but didn't notice the name.

Excelsior!
