I just found this bit and it sounds like a great idea, I'm going to start with a 21 day challenge. It's my Sons first birthday on the 22nd Nov but I don't have any other midweek events until then, plus I would love to feel a little slimmer for his party in the 24th. Im not going to weigh in the scales always annoy me. Just go by my hopefully a little looser clothes. So today is day one of my 21 day challenge, I have been up since 5 am with the baby so it is going to be quite a long day but I'm confident I can do it:)
I think I'll post my meals mainly to encourage lots of healthy fruit /veg, when it's written down its harder to ignore.
Meal 1 (breakfast) - 2 satsumas and 3 slices of toast

Day 2 fail I was having a great day really enjoying it then I had a nibble of a biscuit - then a mini binge, but I've reigned myself in and the rest of the day can still be a success.
Im Going to have two N days over the weekend and call yesterday and today my s days I know this is advised against but I think getting a good 7 days under my belt habit wise maybe ever 12? Will help me get into the right frame if mind so I'm going to give it a go - next 7 days, no snacks no sweets no seconds.

Hi Ani, I agree with eschano, learn from your failures but mark them and move on, stick with the NoS structure for now. The habits include the 'safety valve' of weekends.
Also remember you can always slowly introduce the habits if you are having a hard time with them altogether - see how you go next week, but some people find that restricting one S at a time over the space of a few weeks is helpful!

Thank you so much for your comments and I'm going to take your advice, I'd rather have 2 s days than 2 more fails, and that is likely at the weekend (being totally honest) especially as my MIL is taking our three boys for a sleepover (never happened before, or likely to again). So here goes two S days. I think they will be pretty moderate because I know they are S days if you know what i mean, I'm guilty of the what the hell approach when I fail. So I'll take the weekend to do some reading here and prepare myself for Monday. I'll have a think about easing myself in, but mainly I know I need to change my habits and prob the best way to do that is creat new ones! So my 21 day challenge starts on Monday

Day 3 today (first N day)
I feel great and really positive, wow there is so much wisdom on these boards it is inpiring. I have a history of bulemia and more recently binge eating and reading how people have overcome any type of disordered eating is what is appealing more than anything! But this also why I find weekends hard, but again from reading on here they seem to get easier.
So today
1> Toast(2) and 2 satsumas
2> soup and roll with ham, brie and salad.
3>Salmon and pasta in white wine & cream sauced
DAY 3 - SUCCESS - I'm super excited, plus I'm having an early night so day v nearly done.

You're off to a good start! I just now noticed you have this thread, and I missed on the other that you wanted to join me on my 21 day challenge. Of course! We don't have to be on the same day to encourage each other! I just finished day 7. ( See my daily) You'll find that once you have a few greens in a row, it motivates you to keep going! Lets see if we can get 5 greens in a row.

wow today was a busy day, but that made it easier too in a way, although usually if Im busy especially on a work day and I dont have the kids I usually 'treat' myself to some chocolate. Well not today!

No exercise today

Day 5 Success
Another hectic day, but I met some challenges and overcame them, I went for coffee and declined all food
B: toast x 1, shreddies and a satsuma
L: soup and a roll with salad and turkey
D: scrambled eggs and toast (2)

I kind if started feeling sorry for myself, I was at work and tired and I weighed myself - not a good idea for me. Anyway what happened today is not important it is what happens from now and that is me dusting myself off and hoping back on my no s journey!!!

Today was another fail, it started when a lady asked my when I'm due - I'm not pregnant so that wasn't a great start to my day!!! I just got fed up and felt oh Sod it if I look so fat what is the point.... Anyway there is a point because I want to be slim and healthy and at peace with food so I'm going to plod on, I wouldn't mind but I definately felt slimmer on wed after 3 green days so I know no s will work for me if I can work for No S !!

Some people are so rude!!! Now you need to do something nice for yourself to make up for it, but not food related.
It might help to write down all the reasons you want to lose weight and get control of your eating. Then you can look at them a few times a day. You CAN do this and IT WILL get easier. Hang in there and have a great weekend.
I just looked up my reasons, thought it would help me too to look at them again. Here they are:
1. I'll have more energy
2. My clothes will fit better
3. I'll look better.
4. My knees will feel better
5. Clothes shopping will be more fun
6. I'll be healthier and live longer
7. Food tastes better if I'm hungry for my meals
8. I'll feel more in control.
9. I'll have more self confidence.
10. I'll be happier when I look in the mirror.
11. I won't have that sluggish, overfull feeling.

Thank you sweetness, you are right, I wrote a similar list a few months ago I'm off now to re write one.thanks for your support, I'm determined to make this work but I know I need to be patient too, in the past if something isn't working instantly I'm off, onto the next great plan. But I know no s is perfect for me so I'm determined to ride the waves this time, rough and smooth.

Right as inspired by sweetness here is my list of reasons why I want to be healthier.
1. I will be slim, fit and healthy

Well the weekend was awful I just ate and ate and ate for no reason, and I weighed myself this morning why I dont know and I have gained 6 lbs - seriously!!
So anyway that is the past this is the present and I am going for a green week, plus some exercise because I feel really unfit at the moment too, so I started the couch to 5km on Saturday so hope to keep that up and go back to yoga this week too.
