Question about Smileys

Not sure if this is where I post this but can someone tell me how to insert the Emoticons? Thanks.

Hi, when you go to post something, to the left of your screen you will see the emoticons, pick one...I think that is what you were asking

NONE of the formatting options work for me, so if you're having trouble, you're not alone. If you aren't, then I'm alone.

I know they are on the left but how do I put them into my post. I put the flashing line (cursor?) where I want the smiley to go and then click on the smiley it always puts the smiley at the end of my post.

I tried dragging the smiley to where I want it and it puts it in java script or whatever that is....????

Just wondering what I am doing wrong. Looks like I am not the only one.
