Warning: major bulletin board upgrade coming soon

I might even try pushing it out tonight if I can work out some last critical kinks (habitcal integration).

The new version of the software (phpbb3 vs. the phpbb2 we're currently running) is much, much nicer -- and all the urls to existing posts and discussions stay the same. Among other things, the search mechanism is actually useful. It's working nicely in test (except for the habitcal, but I think I'm close to getting that to work as well).

I'll have to shut down the current version before porting the data over to be sure no one loses messages they post during the upgrade, but I'll post a warning here about an hour before I do that so you don't get cut off in the middle of a magnum opus.

Good luck, and thanks for letting us know.

Thank you for all the effort you put into running the site. It is very generous of you, particularly given your family and work commitments, and we really appreciate it.

Thanks, guys!

Unfortunately that first stab at habitcal integration didn't work, so may be a few more days before I flip the switch.

Did you flip the switch..I noticed a new page, but not sure that is what you are referring to as I was missing in action for a few months :(

Thanks again for the site...

No flip yet.... you'll notice. It looks significantly different.

The only thing holding me up is figuring out how to plug the habitcal into the login system.

I think it has some kind of rss support, at least optionally. I'll make sure to keep that in mind when configuring it.
