First-time poster, longtime lurker.

I've been following the board since 2005 and read the book in 2008, but have never actually attempted the diet. So, this will be my first try.

I intend to follow vanilla No S with one minor modification: until I'm able to wean myself completely off "snacks," I am going to allow myself one 130 calorie protein shake during the morning and another during the afternoon.

I will also be doing 5 days a week of Shovelglove and 3 days of Couch to 5K.

I have about 55 lbs. to lose and hope to reach my goal weight of 185 lbs. in a couple of years.

Welcome, confusion. Since milk and other unsweetened beverages are allowed, I don't count protein drinks as an S. I often use one to get me through a long afternoon.

I use water instead of milk in my protein shakes, so I guess I'm okay. Good to know. Not sure why I was thinking they would be an S.
