Uplifting Messages

Post by gettnbusy » Wed Jan 03, 2007 3:46 am

I wanted to start a thread with great motivational things we've heard recently or the things that keep us going every single day.

Here are my favorites lately....
Lance Armstrong says "Pain is only temporary...quitting is forever!"
Maya Angelou says "We do the best we can and when we know better, we do better"
Anonymous Quote I saw on some blog somewhere "If you think you're perfect you're an idiot to start off with."

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITES? List them here!
~I'm still not perfect~

It is far better to attempt something and fail than to attempt nothing and succeed.

I have had more trouble with myself than any person I know.

One way to get high blood pressure is to go mountain climbing over molehills.

Help people reach their full potential. Catch them doing something right.

Good idea, Gettnbusy. And fun.
A lot of growing up happens between "it fell" and "I dropped it."

"Never appeal to a man's 'better nature.' He may not have one. Invoking his self-interest gives you more leverage."

That one actually works for/against me. I will stick to the diet for reasons purely selfish before I will stick to it because someone else thinks I should.

It's from "Time Enough for Love" by Robert Heinlein
"Avoid making irrevokable decisions when tired or hungry."

We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same. – Carlos Castaneda

-Italian Proverb

Action is what separates belief from opinion. (Unknown)
