Giant Plate

I'll be going to a college night tonight, providing general financial aid information to high school students. Every year our college sponsors a pasta buffet for the university and department representatives in attendance. To avoid the multiple-plate shuffle of buffet lines (salad, bread, main, etc.), our food service department has giant, charger-sized plates. I have not measured them, but they may be as large as 14 inches across (two inch border, ten inch inner circle).

Anyway, I'm posting this to have it on record that I'm going to use the inner circle of the plate as my plate for NoS purposes. If I violate that rule, I'm going to count the day as a fail. I don't want to try to rationalize excess, just because it fits on the ridiculous plate. I go to events with these plates several times per year, so I want to begin as I mean to go on. Also, if I make it through today, I'll have 21 days on habit--I sure don't want to blow that over an extra piece of garlic bread. :)

You can do it. Planning ahead of time puts you at a huge advantage.

Good luck!

Hi, Swuddly-
Sounds like a plan! Good for you, for thinking this through and exercising some restraint. I'm not sure I would have as much integrity...
I look forward to hearing how it works out!

Go Swuddly! Forewarned is forearmed.

I usually don't put food on the border of my plates at home either, it looks weird.

Thanks for the cheers, All. The plan worked, and I remained on habit. :) More than half of my plate was fruit or vegetable, too, so it was even a healthy meal.
