Hi There, I'm Spryng. (yep like the season lol)
So 3 years ago I lost over 60 lbs and successfully kept it off, I had tried No S many times throughout maintenance, I didn't lose with it but maintained liked a champ well the past few months work has been stressful, I moved, life happened, you know how that is, anyway, I hadn't been on a scale all summer and hopped on and I was up 14 lbs! I know that doesn't sound like much but I'm just 5'3 so any weight I really feel and I've been feeling fluffy and sluggish lately and living in yoga pants and shorts so I didn't realize I went up a size or two.
So denial phase is over, I need to get the weight off so I was thinknig about No S again, my issue is, like I said before, I never lost with it but only maintained my weight so I thought I would tweak it a bit. Stick to the No S ruled of no second, no sweets, no snacks, but for my meals I'd use a small salad plate instead of my regular dinner plates. I started on saturday and decided this past weekend I wouldn't allow as a S day for me, perhaps next weekend. So this is the morning of day 3 and I am down 3.6 lbs already! I'm soooo excited. But I don't want my momentum to stop. I need to stay accountable and to do that I need to do it with a support system, someone to check in with daily etc, anyone else want to join me and check in each day? Encourage each other?

Welcome back! and congratulations on having maintained a 48-lbs loss for three years! But be careful purposely planning not to take S days. It smacks of dieting to reach a certain weight, not developing a lifelong habit. Now, if you get to a Saturday, have no event that is S worthy, and feel very content with your savory meals, don't have an S. The question is not how can I lose to a lower weight but how can I live at a lower weight. If you have to be too drastic, something that can't last through stress, moving, and life, you'll just be fighting all the time. We live for the love of food, not the fight! But loving doesn't mean stuffing ourselves.

I still consider myself a newbie here, but I agree with what oolala53 Marye say about not restricting yourself (especially on S days). Have you got the book to re-read?
I don't have a large amount of weight to lose, but I have lost slowly over the past two months. This week, I've seen it creep back - and it's not because I've over-done my S days - it's to do with the content of my meals on N days: I've had more bread for sure. There's a section in the book about what to do if your not losing..... and cutting out the weekend S days isn't one of them (non weekend S days can be cut out for sure!)
Good luck!

Did you start a check in thread? Let me know on mine. Then, I'll "subscribe" to it. I think that's the easiest way to be buddies.

Thanks all! and yes I won't make it a "rule" to not take weekends as S days but yes if there is nothing special happening then I'm sticking to my salad plate 3xs a day
I have to say I'm so impressed so far, I'm already down 4.8 lbs as of this morning and I just started on Saturday. I have finally found what works for me again and its so relieving

The losses can come in fits and starts, and even the ease can, too, but it's just so sane!

I'm going through a stressful time. Nothing extreme and all of my own choosing. Still.
Good habits are in place but it's easy to get sloppy. I'm only going to tighten up to bare minimum vanilla and my usual guidelines. Once this passes I can get back to some of my hobbies that keep me on the lower end of where I like to be.
