New and just want to say hi
As the title said I just wanted to say hi to you all and introduce myself.
I stumbled across this site whilst looking for hints and tips to stop snacking whenever I feel bored or tired. Having looked at a number of diets this is the only plan that looked sustainable so I downloaded the book and had my first day of nosing yesterday.
On the whole my lifestyle is pretty healthy with good old fashioned home cooked meals and a passion for walking. I cook virtually all meals from scratch as I have coeliacs so have to follow a strict gluten free diet. This works in my favour as someone who has a skinny husband with a very sweet tooth, I can just make sure all the treats in the house are not gluten free.
In my younger years I could get away with this horrible habit of boredom eating, but now having hit my fifties its catching up with me and my waistline has taken the brunt of it. I could certainly do with losing a few inches.
Having had a good look around the forum I would like to congratulate you all, it really is so refreshing to find a forum so supportive and friendly. I look forward to joining in and in time hope that I to can also offer support to others.

Thanks for the encouragement oolala53 and vmsurbat.
I have to say so far it has gone really well. Taking advice that I've read on this forum I'm making the effort to have a really good breakfast followed by a substantial lunch, something I've not been very good at in the past. whilst I haven't by any means lost the desire to snack I'm finding it much easier to resist than I was anticipating.
I'll measure my progress on how my clothes fit as I prefer to avoid the scales at all costs.

Consider measuring your progress by how much you enjoy your meals and get better at negotiating the gaps between them. Then fit will be just icing on the cake.
