Looking for recommendations on a video/dvd to workout my legs. Not really looking for aerobic type videos, but strengthening type. Really want to work on my legs. Arms would be good too though. Thanks!

I don't know of many videos that only concentrate on legs. I have been enjoying kettle bells lately. I look up reviews on Amazon.com for ideas.

Tami Lee Webb has some good videos for legs. So does The Firm.

If you!re looking for more Pilates-style toning, Mari Winsor has some good workouts. If you want more advanced leg toning, I would recommend one of Cathe Friedrich's lower body workouts. If you want classic floor work, Margaret Richard has excellent floor work in her DVDs,

BTW, my understanding is that if you want to build bulk, heavy resistance is the way to go. If your thighs are already bulky, a bike set on low resistance and peddling at high rpms is one of the best things to do, as well as floor work without weights.

Oolala, I think you're right. I know I'm prone to bulk in my lower body, so I have to be VERY careful not to lift too heavy of weights, or to do too many step aerobics sessions.
Pilates is another good way to slim the lower body. Plus, it helps strengthen the small supporting muscles around the knees, so it's great for people with knee issues (like me).

Oh, yes, Pilates, Lotte Berk method (probably her Basic Essentials video), Callanetics, Chicometrics (lower body stuff on the last two), barre workouts: all these are supposed to develop a dancer's leg. Don't know how big your local library is. Nice to check them out beforehand.

But I have used and like the Tami Lee Webb video.

I definitely do not need to bulk up my legs! I do have an exercise bike. I have never spent time doing exercise videos. I think I will start with Tami Webb. Thanks everyone!!

A picture of my legs?? I have a looooong way to go before that will ever happen! So, you are saying low tension on the bike pedaling as fast as I can correct? My bike has different programs....I should go for a ride in the park rather than pike's peak?? :?:
