smaller plate or Normal size plate?
Ok, I wondered should I use a 9" plate or start with a normal sized one? Tommarow will be day 1 sort of for me. I am starting now, but today was kinda messed up.
Hmm, for some reason I thought 9" was smaller than the standard Corelle plates. Let me look into it...
Ok It appears our plates are around 10 1/4 inches and our small salad plates are 8 1/2"
They are similar to this, just different design...

I'd say stick with normal plates as long as they aren't larger than 10 1/2 inches. Or, if they're that large or larger, if they have a raised border and a center that is smaller.

I've been using 9" plates for a long time without thinking about it. I finally measured them. Funny, but I often eat at a friend's house whose plates look HUGE to me, I guess they're probably "normal" dinner plates!

I think our dinner plates are 10 inches or so (as milliem described - 7 inches or so and a rim.) What I go for is: no breakfast, a cereal bowl sized portion for lunch, a full (and sometimes heaped) plateful for dinner. It works well for me. If I ate a full plateful 2-3 times a day, I might consider smaller plates but I don't think it would be a great idea for me to reduce my dinner portion since I don't eat much for lunch.

I use a normal sized plate with a 'normal' (for me) amount of food. The size of the plate doesn't influence me to eat any more or any less. That said, I don't eat much so I often choose a smaller plate so my food doesn't look so lonely
We have some plate photos on our website - in several different sizes.

I keep it as simple as possible. To fill a plate, I reach in the dishes cupboard and get the dinner plates and use them.
Now, I've done some tweaking of No-S after many MONTHS of compliance and a rather slow weight loss, but boy, howdy, let me tell you what, the habits developed from those months wouldn't have happened unless I'd been a really boring literalist at first.
Until you have the HABIT down, use whatever dinner plates you usually use. Making it unnecessarily complex is death for this kind of thing.
