I got to thinking about this some more -- the lower food bill thing. Yes, not buying snack foods helps, but I think in my case, part of the dramatic lowering in food spending also has to do with the fact that when I'm strictly No-Sing, I tend to PLAN meals more. I do not have explicit rules for S-days. I do try to adhere to some guidelines, though if I don't, it's not a failure and I'm damned if I'll breast beat about it. Guideline one: EAT BREAKFAST just like I do every N-day. Guideline two: PLAN a good treat (or two). I'm less likely to graze if I am spec...

http://noelfigart.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/20110507Weightloss.png I've been on habit just fine. I did take an NWS day yesterday. I had a cold. And two cookies. (I average an illness every four or five years. I'm cool with that being an NWS day, since I haven't taken one this year). I als...

Only if you're chugging it straight from the bottle. A bit on food? No problem.Mrandy1 wrote:What do u think?

OMG A MOD!!!
I'm doing a one-month experiment. Just for May (unless the results are so tangibly wonderful I want to continue), I'm declaring alcohol an S. I notice I've been having a few red days on the Glass Ceiling, and I also notice that it seems to be that I'm having drinks in the evening almost like I would...

New stuff.. I just read the new Elizabeth I novel by Margaret George (I'm a historical fiction nut as well as a science fiction freak). I love her stuff. I got a Kindle for Christmas and I have to confess I've been downloading a lot of my old "comfort reads" Shogun, Stranger in a Strange Land, The V...

Friday No-S Glass Ceiling Exercise Had an extra glass of wine. Didn't work out after my nap. That was foolish. The reality is I only really work out consistently when I do it to START my day. For days when I open the gym and teach too early to have time to get in a workout after my gym shift, I thin...

I'd definitely be at least virtually plating for this. Co-workers are not worth an S. (Clients, maybe, but it's never been found necessary). I'd pick some savory made by by the gossipiest harridan at the office to oooh and ahhh over, and no-one would know I was "dieting", and I'd earn points with th...

Food Prices
I don't know if many of you find a reduction in your grocery bill when you start eating No-S. I did, and I'd always been pretty frugal in terms of groceries.
As food prices are rising, I'm finding myself grateful that I've gotten used to only eating at meals and keeping portions relatively small.

Monday: No-S Glass Ceiling Exercise Breakfast: Oatmeal Lunch: Leftover Curry Dinner: Beans and rice I didn't swim this morning, and I just couldn't face the weight room this afternoon because my feet hurt from teaching all morning. But there's a problem with this. The French did have Puritans, or at least Calvinists. They were called Huguenots. They didn't overthrow a king in France, the way they did in England, but they were there. I'm of Huguenot descent. (My family is also from Richmond, VA, where they *shudder* pronounce ...

Feeling like quitting
I'm feeling grouchy today and feeling like I want to be able to snack whenever I want rather than do No-S. No, I'm not quitting today. Just saying I'm feeling a bit childish. I'm calling this an extinction burst and moving on with my day. Who originally posted that article? Whoever it was, I'm still...

While I do hope that I will lose weight, getting thin is not my primary reason for doing No-S and exercising. I do it because I can feel confident when doing so that my eating habits are not out of control. Three meals a day and treats on special days? Way to go out on that limb, right? I want at le...

Sunday: S-Day Yep, it was Easter. Yep, ate a lot of candy. It was delicious. Today's an N-day, so it's not for candy. Whenever I think about just tossing No-S because I'm not really losing weight for crap, I do think of this, "Anything that keeps boundaries around excess and average days can't be ba...

Friday: No-S Glass Ceiling Exercise It is possible that that red really shouldn't be a red as I walked a LOT today, but I'm taking it as a red because I didn't work out the half an hour.
