What a GREAT quote! Belongs on the "sticky" page, IMHO. (And applies to more than No-S.)

Hi KCCC - just wanted to say thank you for the 'don't wreck the car' catchphrase. Part of my job involves working with students who find it difficult to control their behaviour and we are having a lot of success with this analogy. One boy in particular turns up at my office at the end of the day sa...

Dinner was different than planned - hubby wanted to go back to work, so wasn't eating with us. So I just fixed tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches, plus fruit. It's one of the little guy's faves, but we don't have it often because hubby dislikes tomato soup. I also had another CaL in the after...

Oh, Berry, Grammy, and Blithe, how you are making me smile! Yes, it was a fail... and I don't regret it one little bit. :) Normally, I try to avoid the "food is love" connection - in most cases, you CAN take the love and still refuse the food. But every now and then... it matters. I do think it's im...

Okay, this time I bought TWO...

This sort of goes along with the "cult person" thread... I had bought my original copy of No-S just as a "thank-you" to Reinhard. (At the time, I thought I "knew it all" from the website.) However, when I got it, I found it very useful to have all the info in book form. Eventually I gave my copy awa...

Dinner was a bit different - I didn't realize I was out of canned salmon. Oh well. I subbed chicken quesadillas, and it was fine. However, had a "fail." Son offered me two of his last "peeps" - which I love especially when they're very stale and chewy. (Okay, laugh. I know this is counter to all my ...

I'm going to be a bit grave here and point out some things. No S is not offered as a program for reversing health problems, and I'm pretty sure Reinhard would be the first to say it. It sounds to me like your doctor may be quite worried about you. Do you think she was overestimating the problem? I'...

Well, I got it, and I am not happy with it. The functionality is fine. But this thing is BIG - like a large hard-boiled egg cut in half. Welcome back, Tiffani! You sound so unhappy. My recommendation to you is one you've heard before: Be gentle with yourself. CBT can be really effective. And the good thing it, when you change the way you think, the behavior (generally, eventually) follows. A lot of people here use it (even if they don't know they are). All those "great quotes" that people adopt almost as mantras are ways to change their thinking. "Mark i...

And I'm not surprised about "more exercise" - I've long thought that "a body in motion tends to stay in motion / a body at rest tends to stay at rest" is not just physics, but an important statement about people!

Congrats on the weight loss!
