Hi Ariel,

This is instead of rather than in addition to. I like the freedom here. Nothing forbidden, just a time and a place for all good foods. This is easy, this is fun! I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am. :D

One thing that I am finding a help in avoiding the snack attack is to balance my meals with a little protein, a little starch, and lots of fruit/vegetables/salad. The protein is digested slowly, the starch is very filling, and the produce will keep you healthy with vitamins and minerals. When I firs...

It may be that they can be skinny and eat junk all day, but if you stick with the program, and they stick with the junk, there may be a reversal in ten years or so. They will be fat and sick and you will be slim and healthy. It may be hard to see this now, but later on you will see that this is true...

Shovelglovers of the World Unite!

I'm now officially one of you, having gone to Walmart and bought my very own sledgehammer. I bought a shorter one (15 inches long) marked at 4 pounds, but it felt heavier than that, so I weighed it when I got home: 6 pounds. I like it a little shorter than others that I saw because I'm a short perso...

I saved the business card as a jpeg into My Documents, then used photo editing software to enlarge without pixelating. As long as I was at it, I framed it into a picture of a piggie-chef, and framed that into a coordinating blue mat frame. Techno-mom strikes again!

Hi Deb, My family is very supportive, no problems there. I joined this program after five years on the McDougall Program (fat free vegan) and they were always okay with that. but it doesn't seem to. Eight days now, and no-s days have been really easy. I did most of the shovelglove movements last night. All the junk in the garage, but no sledge hammer anywhere, so I used a 5 pound cast iron dumbbell. Actually, I was just wondering about this in a general sense. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, and even Polaner is too sweet for me at breakfast. Orange juice, and sometimes a piece of fresh fruit, is very satisfying, along with the usual egg and toast.

Two things: (1) would these exercises work with a body bar instead of sledge hammer? I like the idea of the weight being evenly distributed instead of just at one end. (2) musing on movements, so here's one for you: "Washing Clothes." In exercise parlance, it would be called "Bent-Over Row." Imagine...

All-Fruit Jellies?

I suppose that putting jelly/jam/preserves on breakfast toast is something to be reserved for an S day because of the sugar content. But how about Polaner All-Fruit or Smucker's All Fruit? They are sweetened with fruit juice only, no sugar added, no artificial sweeteners, either. Legal on no-S days?
