Went for a nice long walk this morning. It was *wonderful*. The weather is beautiful right now. Went for 60 minutes today. This is the longest walk I have done, so I am pooped. Good start to an S day anyway. Motivates me to get other things done today too. *edited to add* Wow, that walk absolutely m...

Got right back in there and did my urban ranger thing and SG. Good No S day....even though its FRIDAY !! Fridays can sometimes be a bad thing for the waistline, but today was a good one. I didn't beat myself up too much about yesterday. I know I will have times that I just won't adhere to everything...

This is such a great thread. I have tried Atkins, Weight Watchers, counting calories, and just basically starvation. How is No S different for me than other diets I have tried? Well, since I concentrate more on eating three meals rather than calorie counting, point counting, or foods I should or sho...

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions. I actually love Greek yogurt and went out and bought some this evening. Mixed in some bananas and granola....delicious and very filling! The soup is a good idea too (thanks for the recipe, wosnes!). I have a few more ideas now. As far as oatmeal goes, I am ...

So I have been consistently walking at least 30 minutes a day and shovelgloving. I can already see changes happening with my body! I have also been following No S perfectly. So far so good. I am still a little sore from all the walking and SG, but it's a good sore. I've also already dropped a couple...

Healthy Convenience Foods
I know Reinhard suggests a great convenience food of oatmeal. I will get some, but I'm not a huge fan of oatmeal. I may try his idea and put some nuts and dried fruit in it to liven it up a bit though. But what are some other good convenience foods that you reach for when you're in a hurry and simpl...

oliviamanda, so glad that it was only for a week though! I find it interesting that you actually gained weight when you were basically not even eating. I'm so happy for you that you now know that those other things really aren't the way to go. From my experience, they definitely don't work. I mean, ...

Thank you, Reinhard. I have not listened to that podcast, but I will now. I think I will take your advice and do the N days for a while and make sure I have that down. My S days are definitely going to be scaled back and not as excessive. I was used to having excess on Saturdays and Sundays before, ...

I can definitely tell that my tastes are changing and also my tolerance for certain foods and drinks. I honestly did not believe Reinhard when I read that you become more picky about what you eat. Now I am beginning to believe. As someone who has been in deprivation mode for quite some time and the ...

Thank you so much! I am hooked already, and it's only my second day. You know, I have always been an "all or nothing" kind of girl, and I always thought that if walking was good, then running is better. If 30 minutes is good, then 60 minutes is better....I am now really starting to grasp that just d...

Today I just feel great! I did another 30 minute walk with my 16 year old daughter!! I loved it! We had a nice talk and got some exercise in besides! I'm so happy she decided to join me. idon'tknow: Thank you for your input! That's so great that you've lost 12 pounds! I will absolutely stick to this, because like you said, this is a sane way of eating. Got it! Isn't it funny that I have only done No S for 3 days in a row (started Tuesday) and already I am noticing changes. Things that would not have bothered me to indulge in just make me feel sick now. I guess it's all part of becoming more aware of what is going in my mouth. I do feel great on th...

Machelle's Daily Check In
Ok, so I am pretty new to this whole thing. I really need to stay accountable though, so here is my very first check in. I have done both Weight Watchers and the every other day diet and have lost around 15 pounds, but kept falling off the wagon due to deprivation which led me to a bit of a binge. W...

Thanks everyone for the input. I sort of figured I would have to gain a bit initially because my body is still going to think I will starve it. I don't think my goal is too unrealistic. I am 5'2" small frame and weigh 134 right now (46 years old...ugh!). I would like to get to 115, which is certainl...

Coming off of severe calorie restriction?
Hi everyone, I'm new here, and cannot believe I stumbled upon this diet (or rather, excitingly...a way of life)! I really am thrilled! Here's a question though. I have lost about 15 pounds by severely restricting my calories. Some days I have literally eaten next to nothing. My question is, if I'm c...
