Not lasting to lunch!
Not even close! Oatmeal about one cup at 8:30am, and ravenous by 11! This wont work since dinner has to be 7pm. I have no real appetite at breakfast but choke down some plain oatmeal on way to work so I can make my three distinct meals. Well this morning I was literally shaky hungry within 2-1/2 hou...

You guys are awesome for the support and tips. And those who told me I wasn't alone in struggling long to get a green day under their belt thanks a ton for writing that. Thought I was alone in the ridiculous time it's taking to get a green. I had one green yesterday and I'm feeling pumped by it. Was...

Thank you for the bounty of good advice and kind words. I am at a loss and am wondering if I could actually have a successful day of three distinct meals if at those meals i ate the crap that I crave. Just as an attempt to get one three meal day under my belt. I understand that's certainly not ideal...

100% failure
I lurk but rarely post. I cannot seem to accomplish the most valuable rule to me and the first step of the plan. I know without a doubt that adherance to this plan will change my life but cannot manage the most crucial step to me of three meals no snacks. I know that at least 80% of my calories are ...

Thanks! So if you were to do 4 average size meals, would you suggest doing them on smaller plates? Or maybe 3 meals on a dinner plate and 1 meal on a bread plate? I counted calories for my mini meal today, but I'm thinking there's a better way to do it. Hi Clarinetgal, I think if i were to do 4 pla...

I"m also going to follow this. I am thinking that for some people, 5 or 6 hours between meals just isn't going to work, ever. that their system is such that splitting the food up into 4 meals works better. You should never wait so long to eat that you begin feeling weak or dizzy, no matter if it's 4...

They are fat because they are lazy, don't deal with emotional issues (once in a blue moon it's a legit medical condition) and eat way too much calorically thanks to their McDiet. It may not be easy to fix, but ignorance of the facts aren't the reason, it's more due to the fact that it's not an inje...

Ok thanks guys. I actually found that my propensity for snacking into the evening hours (after dinner) was markedly stronger when i was consuming diet coke than when i drink regular coke. It's weird, but diet coke for all these years was making me hungry all the time. I find myself satisfied with on...

Hi Ranger! Last night I had an early dinner, and around 9:30 I was feeling a little hungry I had a few bottles of Diet Black Cherry Soda in the fridge, which is kinda like a treat to me. So i poured one in a glass and sipped it while I relaxed, and it worked! I did not snack, that seemed to do the t...

Perhaps you could find some sort of drink or some sort of ritual that you could substitute for food at night. vmelo that sounds like a good idea. I will find something to 'finish' the evening eating. Something to drink. I was wondering, if nighttime eating is under control for you now, what area ar...

Thanks guys I knew you would understand. It most certainly is habit and not hunger. In some ways it's like an addict, who doesn't want to go into rehab because they miss their drug, even though it is the drug that is doing them in. The dialogue in the head of "ok i will start tomorrow" because today...

The evenings are so hard for me
I know this is the way to live. Everything about No S feels so right to me. I will not give up, but I have such a difficult time in the evenings. Breakfast, lunch, no problemo. After dinner, I get the 'eaties'. It's not true physical hunger, it's emotional, i just have the urge to snack right up til...

Help a newbie with a sample day of your food
If you could give me a sample day's of meals it would really help me to visualize what normal people eat at a meal. I am an atkins refugee whose sense of 'normal' is off now. Please list maybe what your meals were yesterday? I love this board and am starting to feel 'normal' again!! I am officially ...

I got the same lecture that no carbs is the ONLY way to lose weight. Also got told that carbohydrates are not needed for energy or health and it is ridiculous to think so. People survive and thrive on fat and protein I was led to believe and don't need any kind of grains, fruit or starch except may...

Room for an Atkins refugee?
I came across the nosdiet.com website and read the entire thing, loved it. I feel like I always knew I needed to do this, but seeing it in writing was wonderful! And the sense of humor throughout was priceless. I am a failed Atkins refugee. Lost good weight during induction, then nada. And what seem...
