Another beginner's routine!
Hi everyone. I started shugging again this friday (I didn't manage to make it part of my routine when I tried before, and grew distanced from my hammer :( ), and shugged again today! I didn't do any yesterday, as my arms were still too sore from friday. x] Here's my routine (I do the number displaye...

I don't object to it at all, it is when non-vegans call themselves vegans that I get annoyed. The definition for the word "vegan" is very clear, and is not purely a dietary choice. So my nit-pick is when people who use wool/leather/silk/other animal-derived product call themselves vegan (or are call...

That's excellent, about your son! The ideals of the young can be fiercely strong, I have noticed. I have been vegan since I was thirteen. :) Up until that time, I followed the same lifestyle as your son, eating fish, but no other meats. I realize that the lifestyle isn't for everyone, but for me, it...

Small nitpick, about the word "vegan"
Bear in mind: This is just a small nitpick, I do not have the intention of being arrogant at all. If I come across this way, I apologize in advance. To the subject-mobile! Right. I've seen a lot of people on this forum mention having been vegan for a while, then reverted back to vegetarianism/eating...

Digg it!
Hey guys, I noticed that there was no entry for Shovelglove on Digg , so I made one . Check it out, and be sure to "digg" it. *grins* Edit: I wasn't sure if this was more suitable in the off-topic section or this one, so I guessed on this one (since it seems relevant, and might get more noticed by t...

Oh yes it is! :D Playin' them vidya games in the mornin' is great fun! Plus, with scheduled stuff ahead (like work), it's easier not to play for too long, because you can't just say "Oh, I'll just sleep a little less tonight, for just one more match". That's very handy for people like me, who have t...

Excellent! I'm so psyched about this, and I admit that swinging my hammer around made me feel just a teeny bit macho. Never felt anything like it before. And yes, one does tend to forget about such good things, when one gets unaccustomed to them. But it feels so great! Thank you, and may your ...

When my sleeping habits were at their best, I used to go to sleep at around 8 (sometimes a bit sooner), and I'd wake up at 3-4 in the morning. That gave me plenty of time before school to do stuff, like take a walk, have a nice shower, eat calmly, and read a whole bunch. I wish I'd have been shovelg...

Reinhard, I don't know if you've found out about the color-printing options of all the browsers, but for Safari (at least Safari 4, don't have any older versions), these images might help: Safari how-to 1 Safari how-to 2 Simple, but easily missed (that blue button in the first image isn't very obvio...

All right! First routine over! Boy, this was a blast! I woke up just half an hour ago, 6:30, and I am wide awake! I keep using exclamation marks! :D I didn't feel any sort of pain, except for the burn in my arms (feels great!) and I was careful to do many of the movements slowly and carefully. Here'...

Thanks, Reinhard!
I decided to settle on the 5kg (11 lbs) hammer, and I've got it all wrapped in a sweater and everything!
Here's a picture of the thing + its proud owner.
Will start to routine tomorrow morning, I'll keep you posted![/url]

Well, the store I visited today didn't carry heavy enough hammers for me (They only had 6.6 lbs hammers. I'd rather take a hammer that's a bit too heavy than a bit too light, I can always work very slowly and carefully to begin with. Don't worry, I've read all the disclaimers and a whole lot of foru...

So, here I am! I actually started this on friday, but I didn't think to check out the forum 'till now. I don't have a weight problem, but I do snack a bit more than I should, and I have a feeling that this'll be ideal to help reduce my sugar-addiction. Well, friday was a Success ! No sugary stuff at...

Congratulations on your excellent first week! Regarding "moving things along" (grin), I've heard that keeping oneself well hydrated is key, along with the fiber. Are you drinking enough? A few glasses of water a day should do the trick, but it's easy enough to forget. Sorry if that doesn't work, it'...

Thanks for the tips! Sadly, there's no Art's Rental Tools here in Iceland. I can only think of one store that might carry these things, actually. With the tiny population(just over 300,000), I guess little variety is to be expected, though. And by the way: Strange looks = awesome! I think I'll march...

Hey there! This is my first post, so I'll introduce myself quickly. My name is Neptunus, and I'm a seventeen year old vegan from Iceland. That should do it. *grins* So, I've been reading up on shovelgloving (shugging?), after following a link from a comment on theartofmanliness.com , through which I...
