Weight 208.8 -- no change. Bad week for NoSing. Lots of very good snacks around the house this week. The sore throat is gone. Thanks for the sympathy Deb! Better week for the exercise. I've been experimenting with various bodyweight exercises gleaned from web searches. Lots of different types out th...

Weight 208.2. 17 down, 23 to go.

No loss this week. I've been sick with whatever crud is going around but I'm fine now. Downside was bad eating and little exercise.

All, I really think this thread sums up the value of the three (NoS, UR, and SG) systems for me. It's about taking care of myself in a sane, mature manner. I'm not a teenager anymore - I don't heal as fast - My metabolism is slower - My parents aren't responsible for me anymore. It's about growing u...

Weight 208.4, 17 down, 23 to go. So, past that plateau - thanks for the encouragement Deb! Next mini goal is 199. Should be there in late April. Keeping to the NoS and UR program has been much easier now that the days are longer and warmer. I've also started doing some bodyweight exercises in the ga...

Weight 211.8 pounds - no change. 14 down, 26 to go. Well, 210 has always been my roadblock so I just need additional effort to get past it. Starting to feel more motivated - think it's the onset of spring!!! The leg muscle has healed so I am back to full UR status. I've been looking for additional e...

Weight this morning is 211.2 lbs. Another pound gone for good. BTW my target weight is 185 so 26 yet to go. I think I was 175 at age 18 so 185 seems reasonable. After that my goal is a weight of 18X. I should be able to stay in a 10 pound range. I've checked some of the online weight calculators and...

Hi Dixie_Amazon, It's almost completely gone now in the right foot - only an occasional twinge. I really don't know why it happened or what cured it. I think just being careful and letting time do the heel healing :) I did try some things like rolling a tennis ball or golf ball around with the arch ...

Time for change. First change is the avatar. Since I UR mostly at night the shadow Calvin seems appropriate. I'm more of a Calvin anyway. Second change is the workout. I added the SG part (12 lb hammer) and it felt less awkward this time. My scenario (which helps mentally a lot) is building a cabin....

Well, mediocure report this week. Same weight as last week. Not a suprise since I've been snacking every day. I blame the cold weather (g). Hi, Back at after holiday madness and some travelling around Santa Fe, New Mexico - a very cool place. I'm looking forward to getting under 21...

D & R, Thanks for the encouragement. This is a little frustrating but only 2 more weeks of gluttony then back to losing fat. Well, for what it's worth, I'm staying at 214 lbs. I looked at the calender after Thanksgiving and made a decision to wait until after the Holiday Food Madness to continue losing weight. As long as I stay at or below 214 then that's success - until December 26th. So happy holidays to everyone.

Hunger and Satiety

A few interesting articles about how different foods affect a person's hunger feeling. The conclusions are that viscosity, texture, density, and type of food have a remarkable effect on the feeling of fullness while eating. So, choosing certain foods over others may help with portion control. Study:...

Extra Sday today (wifes' birthday).
UR: Su,M,T,W,F

No funny stuff except falling off the pickup tailgate today when dropping leaves off at the compost site - the leaf pile was soft so no damage except to my macho image.
