Hi emmay, Great post! :D I've read those books too, AND I lived in France for 6 months during college... so I can say I think the title should be, "French Women [Who Eat Traditionally] Don't Get Fat." The reality (in 1991 when I was there -- I'm totally dating myself) was that one rarely saw an over...

Hi Waterlilly, I am finding the same things as you! How often I turn to SNACKS to get through the day. It seems it was pretty constant. No wonder my body is where it is right now! At the moment, it's pretty challenging not to grab those snacks when I'm out doing errands or after dropping off my daug...

I'd love to join in!

Jumping into No S again after being on the diet bandwagon. That wagon train has passed me by, I'm never getting on it again.

So glad the OP brought this up!

I'm returning to No-S after a long, ridiculous journey off in diet land. I spent money and time and now am heavier than I was... Surprise, surprise. I'm so glad the OP brought this up. Intuitive Eating is indeed very, very tempting -- it sounds so natural and so "right." I can't tell you the ...

Good reading, thanks for the links!

I resonate with your words... "mantra of other diets built into my head." I have a couple in particular very firmly wedged and it's hard to let go into NoS. Here's to success!

Clarinetgal: This is OT, but have you read the book "AntiCancer: A New Way of Life" by David Servan-Schrieber? It's written by a doctor who got cancer. It is AMAZING and talks extensively and in detail about diet and what he personally has done and given to many, many patients who have either recove...

I'm a picky eater, too!

Thanks for starting this thread! Good to know I'm not alone! Shannah, I'm a supertaster too. It's probably the first thing I would change about my physical body if I could. It's so restricting and so tiring to try to explain why I'll never, and I mean ever, be able to eat onions and peppers. Put a p...

Thanks for the welcomes!

Thanks very much for the welcomes! Oolala, years ago I did Body for Life, and we had free day... so I've had a little experience with the S day concept (like No S, a lot of Body for Lifers started out going wild on free days, only to realize feeling terrible the next day wasn't really worth it). So ...

Starting No-S (& giving up "diets" forEVER)!

Hi everyone! I've had No-S bookmarked for years. Meanwhile, I've been on the diet rollercoaster that so many of us are familiar with. It's time to get off and say goodbye to that world forever. Think of the money saved in not buying new books and magazines for the diets on the front cover! Wo...
