I hear you about the healthy choices. If you follow conventional wisdom that means lots and lots of whole grains, low fat, lean meat, etc, etc, etc. For a healthy diet cut the processed food, dump the grains (especially wheat, read Wheat Belly the book) and eat only natural foods and natural fats an...

I hate to break it to you, but you may have to permanently alter the foods you eat, in order to lose weight. Your hypoglycemia is indicative of high insulin resistance. High insulin resistance is caused by too much carbohydrate in your diet. If you can stick with this outline, hunger pangs are almo...

Tuesday success day
Yesterday was the Thanksgivng lunch at work. Turkey, ham, all the fixings. The plates were small so I had to stack. I had one teensy piece of pumpkin pie but I still consider yesterday a successful N day because it was a gathering of all the employees. And actually I always only eat the smallest amo...

That three pounds I gained?
It's lost now.
Down three pounds as of this morning. First weigh in since I came back to sensible eating.

I'm back
Back again. Took 6 weeks and went crazy. I had been losing weight on No S so decided to tweak things and ended up with a plan of tons of carbs, and meal supplements and low fat. Oh, and then was supposed to eat twenty seven times a day. (Okay, 5-6 times a day) Remember Susan Powter's Stop the Insani...

Sinnie, i wouldn't make it out of the kitchen on the number of calories you are eating. No wonder you are hungry. Perhaps you should fill yourself up with protein and carbs and fats. Increase your calories and you will speed up your metabolism and you will also be able to get through the hours until...

back pain
I am taking S days still. The back issue this time is a bad one because I still work at my computer and it's the sitting that is aggravating the back. (It doesn't seem to matter how ergonomic my chair is) Moving ever so slowly, makes me feel like an old lady and I hate that. The NoS diet has become ...

sick days
Yeah, Hunter, it was an S day and again today.
But I'm still following the NoS WOE but I am not doing the exercise except for back relief.
I am taking Motrin for the inflammation and pain. Going to the doctor is the last thing I want to do. This generally gets better after three days or so.

Are you eating enough at each meal to get you through to the next? Are you getting enough protein? A lot of women don't eat enough protein which means they lose muscle as well as fat and then the metabolism slows down. And then back comes the fat. Are you an active person on a regular basis? Do you ...

Had to mark exempt
Well, I exercise most every day but since I put my back out yesterday, today is definitely out. I can only sit in my computer chair because it is ergonomic and I have it leaning way back. I'm still in a lot of pain. Have tried back exercises which help for a nanosecond. I marked today as exempt, not...

This week's meals
I try to leave 5 hours between meals and at least 3 hours between dinner and bedtime. It does mean I eat larger meals but I have lost 11 lbs in the last three months doing this. I also exercise daily. This combo has been great for me. Aug 6, 2007 7:15 finished breakfast Bowl shredded wheat with 1/2 ...
